Cheeky Bakes & Bites began as a passion project — a home-run bakery turning out the kind of gourmet cookies that make you swear you’ll “just have one” (and never do). But like most small ventures, it started without a proper brand identity. The original DIY logo wasn’t doing justice to the creativity or quality behind the bakes. The business needed a brand that matched its flavor: fun, nostalgic, and just a little bit cheeky.
The Concept
The concept took shape from two key ingredients — the name Cheeky and the recipes themselves. Each cookie carried a sense of comfort and nostalgia, evoking the charm of mid-century diners and pastel bake shops. The creative direction blended that 1950s aesthetic with a modern twist: soft, buttery tones paired with a pop of bright pink, playful hand-illustrated lettering, and custom iconography inspired by her flagship cookies. The goal was to make the brand feel like a warm smile — familiar, fun, and impossible to forget.
The Solution
The brand identity was built in stages to suit a growing business. First came a compact but powerful logo suite — a primary and secondary logo, plus a custom icon that tied the whole system together. From there, a cohesive color palette, typography system, and whimsical illustrations brought the cheeky-meets-classic concept to life. As the business evolved, the brand expanded to include a custom pattern, packaging design, and social and print collateral — ensuring consistency across every touchpoint.
The OutcomeThe result was a sweetly rebellious brand identity that perfectly captures the spirit of Cheeky Bakes & Bites. What once felt homemade now feels handcrafted — intentional, strategic, and ready for growth. The women’s fitness supplement space is saturated with masculine, formulaic branding — dark bottles, aggressive typography, and packaging that doesn’t resonate with women who want to train hard and feel feminine while doing it.
Girly Gains set out to change that. As a new brand in development, their vision was to create protein powders and supplements designed for the girlies — women who embrace fitness but reject the industry’s “one-size-fits-all” aesthetic. The brand needed to be fun, unapologetically feminine, and bold enough to stand out on shelves.
The Concept
The direction rejected the predictable paths of cursive logos, soft pastels, or pared-down minimalism often associated with female-focused products. Instead, the identity was inspired by the early 2000s Y2K aesthetic: bright pinks, bold hand-drawn lettering, and a playful, slightly nostalgic energy.
This look tapped into a cultural moment — the rise of confident, feminine branding that embraces both strength and cuteness. The concept positioned Girly Gains as science-backed, but wrapped in fun, bubbly visuals that their target audience could instantly connect with.
The Solution
The brand exploration included a custom logotype, a bold and vibrant color palette, and illustrated packaging concepts designed to “pop” in the supplement aisle. Hand-drawn type and graphic elements reinforced the playful energy, while layouts balanced approachability with credibility.
Every touchpoint — from mock packaging to social media visuals — leaned into a high-energy, maximalist aesthetic that broke away from fitness industry clichés while staying true to the brand’s values.
The Outcome
The result was a disruptive, eye-catching brand direction that reframed what women’s fitness could look like: strong, feminine, and fun. While Girly Gains ultimately explored multiple design routes, this concept proved the power of breaking category norms and imagining fitness branding that feels both bold and unapologetically girly.
